If you want to share files with multiple computers under Windows 10, you can set up your own home network group. We'll show you how to do it step by step.
Step 1: create homegroup on Windows 10
- Open the control panel and select the category "Network and Internet".
- Click on the home network group and then on the "Create home network group" button.
- After clicking on "Next" you can choose which content you want to share in the home network group and which you don't.
- If you click "Next" again, the homegroup will be set up. Make a note of the password shown.
- The process is completed with the "Finish" button.
Step 2: join homegroup
You can now join the home network group with any number of computers. It is only important that the computers are in the same network. In addition to Windows 10, Windows 7 and 8 are also compatible.
- Press the "Windows" and "E" keys simultaneously so that the Explorer opens.
- Select the category "Homegroup" on the left and click on "Join now".
- Now an assistant starts again. Enter the previously noted password here and define the content to be released.
- You can then access other computers and their shared files in the "Homegroup" area.
