Heating does not get really warm - it could be because of that

If your heating system is no longer really warm, there can be many reasons. We will explain the most common reasons and their solutions to you easily in our guide. So that you will soon be back in the warm ...
1. Heating does not get really warm: heating system reports an error code
If the heating stays cold, the first thing you should look for is an error code on the display of your heating system:
- Take a look at your heating system and look for an error code on the display.
- If you have found an error code, you can look it up in the manual of your heating system. There you will usually find solutions and can often solve the problem on your own.
2. Heating does not get warm if it has not been vented
Another reason for cold heating is too much air in the radiator:
- In such a case, you should vent your heating - you can do that yourself. You can find detailed instructions in the CHIP guide "Venting the heating".
- To ensure that this runs smoothly in the future, you can buy a cheap radiator vent for your heating. Price about 10 euros. This means that the ventilation works without flooding.
3. Heating stays cold: the clock is set incorrectly
However, the clock is often also set incorrectly. For example, the heating may not heat during the day, but instead at night:
- You can easily check this by taking a closer look at the settings on the thermostat. If necessary, change the clock so that the heating heats up again during the day.
- Other incorrect settings can also prevent your heating from getting warm. In particular, check whether your heating system should actually "heat". You may just have set the water to be heated.
- Depending on the heating, you can check the settings via the app (see picture). In some cases, the system incorrectly recognized weather data or did not locate your GPS location.
4. Heating does not get warm if there is insufficient water pressure
There must be sufficient water pressure for your heating to heat properly.
- The optimal water pressure is between 1.2 and 1.8 bar. Check this on your heating system.
- If the water pressure is too low, you have to add water. In this way you ensure that the pressure in the heating circuit is strong enough and your heating can actually heat.
5. With cold heating: Is the circulation pump switched on?
Finally, you should also check whether the circulation pump is actually switched on:
- Place your hand or ear lightly on the pump. If you then recognize a vibration or hear slight noises, you know that the circulation pump is active.
- Tip: Also check whether all pipes that have been laid between the heater and the system become warm when the heater is switched on. The error may already be here.
- In such a case and even if all other causes mentioned do not apply to your heating system, you should call a sanitary service. The problem cannot then be solved by yourself.
