HELP_DECRYPT malware is ransomeware that you should remove quickly. It often gets onto the system with infected file attachments and encrypts your data. You can remove the malware in a few steps, but decrypting your data is a bit more difficult.
Remove HELP_DECRYPT: You need to know this about ransomeware
- HELP_DECRYPT is ransomware that often gets to your computer through infected email attachments.
- The malware asks you to activate the macros in Word or Excel. The actual Trojan is then downloaded.
- Once this is done, your PDF, Word or Excel files will be encrypted. The data is only supposed to be decrypted again after payment of a certain amount in bitcoins.
- Under no circumstances should you comply with this request. The only reliable way to get your documents back is to remove the ransomeware and try to decrypt the data using a tool.
Remove HELP_DECRYPT from the system
First, you should try to remove the malware from your computer. This can be done with special antivirus tools. However, the encryption of your files is still preserved.
- Download the "Sophos Virus Removal Tool".
- You can also start the program from a USB stick. Installation is not necessary.
- If you are unable to run a program at all, you have to create a rescue CD on another computer. The "Avira AntiVir Rescue System" is suitable for this.
- Then insert this into the infected computer and start from the CD.
- After that, the ransomeware should have disappeared from your system. Now it's time to crack the encryption.
Crack encryption of the ransomeware HELP_DECRYPT
Unfortunately, it is not always possible to unencrypt your files. However, there are a few approaches you can try:
- Decrypt: The "Panda Ransomeware Decrypt" tool promises to be able to decrypt infected files again.
- For stubborn cases there is also an "Advanced Mode", in which you read an unencrypted version of the encrypted file into the program.
- Recover data: Sometimes HELP_DECRYPT also deletes the infected files. This makes it possible to restore them with a data saver.
- A recommended program for this is, for example, "Recuva". The tool is also available in a USB version.
- Shadow copy: It is rarely possible to restore the data with the Windows shadow copy. However, this is usually deleted by the malware.
- To do this, right-click on the encrypted file and select "Properties" from the context menu.
- Switch to the "Previous versions" tab. Windows then searches for the last working file.
- You can use the "Restore" button to recover the file.
