Use HERE Maps offline - how it works
The HERE Maps can be used very well for navigation, but this can be quite expensive in online operation. Navigating offline, on the other hand, is not only convenient, it is also inexpensive and easy to use with HERE Maps. You can read how to do this in this practical tip.
Use HERE WeGo offline with your smartphone
The HERE Maps app has now been renamed HERE WeGo and is still one of the best and most popular navigation options for smartphones.
- You get the app for Android phones as well as for the iPhone.
- Unfortunately, it currently looks bad for the Windows phones, which have so far been able to distinguish themselves as navigation systems with HERE Maps. However, the successor Windows app maps to HERE Maps.
- You can also plan your travel route using the HERE Maps web app.
- After you have downloaded the HERE WeGo app, go to the "Settings" of the navigation app if you want to download maps right away.
- Then tap the "Offline Maps" option and select the maps you need.
- In some countries, such as Germany, you can select the cards you want a little more finely, for example, by country. For other countries, you must download the entire map.
- Since the map material is relatively memory-intensive, you should ensure that you have a correspondingly large memory card in good time.
