Heroes of the Storm Champions: Heroes at a Glance
In Heroes of the Storm, numerous heroes from Blizzard games compete. With so many champions, it's easy to lose track. We bring light into the dark and introduce you to the current heroes.
An overview of the heroes from Heroes of the Storm
Teams of well-known Blizzard characters meet in the battle arena of Heroes of the Storm. Each of them has its own strengths and weaknesses and can be played differently, but roughly it can be divided into four classes, including the supporters (usually referred to as supports):
- Their job is less to bring opponents to their knees with horrific damage, but rather to support their allies.
- Support abilities often focus on shields, healing, and other bonuses, or alternatively, negative effects such as stun against the opposing team. Uther combines this perfectly, but Malfurion's healings and Tassadar's shields also annoy his opponents.
- Mobility is also often part of this so that supporters can be with the heroes in need as quickly as possible. Sparkle in particular stands out.
- Other supporters: Li Li, Rehgar, Tyrande and soon also the monk.
With the assassins on the hunt for heroes
Assassins are the classic glass cannons, which means that they give out a lot and are badly plugged.
- The task of the assassin is particularly simple: Get as many heroes off their feet as possible and don't fall over yourself. Assassins are comparable to the "Carries" from DotA or the attack-damage dealers from League of Legends.
- However, since assassins cannot endure much, this is often more difficult than expected because they are often the first target of your opponents. Many are therefore long-range fighters and keep their distance. Zeratul and the butcher also like to get in touch.
- Many assassins also have little chance of escaping once they are involved in a fight. Therefore, despite the high damage, you should not be careless. Raynor can heal spontaneously, Falstad and Tychus sprint over short distances. Escaping a fight rarely succeeds.
- Assassins are particularly less effective against groups, they score particularly well in duels. But of course that varies from hero to hero. For example, Nova is great at emerging from nowhere, striking effectively, and then disappearing.
- Other assassins: Illidan, Jaina, Kael'thas, Kerrigan, Thrall and Valla.
In the middle of the HotS frenzy with the warriors
Warriors are the tough champions who are the first to plunge into team battles, take them properly and deal them out just as well. World of Warcraft players will be known to warriors as "tanks".
- Warriors are the most enduring heroes. In addition to their fundamentally very high resistance, there are also talents that give you shields and self-healing or have them blocked. Of course, this can be combined excellently with supporters who provide additional protection.
- They are excellent at opening fights with jumps, sprints and similar skills. You are just walking over the map, suddenly Sonya jumps on your head or Tyrael comes shot.
- They also often stun their opponents or otherwise keep them under control. The Stitches grappling hook has already sentenced many heroes to death. And when ETC rocks off, all enemies just have to dance.
- Warriors can also be at the front in terms of damage, but then they can withstand less. While Assassins are good at duels, warriors also have plenty of area skills to clean up in team battles. For example, Diablo's flames are everywhere at the same time.
- Other warriors: Anub'arak, Arthas, Chen, Johanna, Muradin and soon also Leoric.
Specialists: The creative special cases among the heroes of Heroes of the Storm
Specialists are all those heroes who can no longer be squeezed into the standard grid. Each of them is characterized by outstanding skills that can meet the special needs of teams.
- The Lost Vikings, for example, are not a hero, but arrive directly as a team of three, as in their game at the time. Each hero can be controlled individually and plays a little differently. If you can control the three together, they are a strong hero, but even if you split them up, they are useful. For example, you cover all routes and the rest of the team can do something different.
- Murky, on the other hand, cannot stand much. If he dies, his opponents also get less experience because his talent is an egg, from which he hatches again in no time to harass his opponents again. No other champion cares about their own death, if not to say so calculated.
- Abathur is also a special case, as they will often not see him outside of his base. Instead, he jumps from one team member to the next and supports them as a flying headdress. His advances and push skills can be all the more surprising.
- In general, our own specialists are designed to demolish enemy buildings in no time, such as Gazlowe and Zagara or Azmodan with his monster army. They are often also good at conquering mercenary camps.
- Other specialists are Sgt. Hammer with her siege tank and Nazeebo, which specializes in area damage.
Not only the specialists are special, the game also sets itself apart from similar MOBA games. No need to worry, we'll tell you what's different in Heroes of the Storm.
