Word: Show guides
Right-click on an empty area in PowerPoint and you will find the settings for "Grid and Guideline". In Word, these functions are unfortunately only available in a comparatively minimalist form.
- Open Word and switch to the "View" tab. For older versions of Office, select the "Format" entry.
- Under the category "Ads" you will find the item "Gridlines".
- Activate this option, lay the lines over the document and you can position objects precisely.
- With the "Ruler" option, you can also use a kind of auxiliary line.
- You can find further help for aligning objects in the "Page layout" category. There, click on "Align" in the "Arrange" group and select the "Grid settings".
We will show you how to create your own table of contents in Word in the next practical tip.
