Similar games like Minecraft: The Best Clones
Although Minecraft continues to dominate the market, there are now numerous clones. We present the best similar games to Minecraft in this article.
1. Creativerse: Similar Minecraft in SciFi robe
A degradable block world, nocturnal opponents and a crafting system: at first "Creativerse" seems to be just a good copy of Minecraft. But there is a lot more to the building game:
- For example, the crafting system is completely different from the original: Before you can get started, you need to find a crafting machine in the world of blocks. You don't dismantle the objects needed for crafting with picks or shovels, but with your glove.
- In the further course of the game you have to upgrade it again and again. To do this, however, you need a lot of blocks and items that you can only find in caves or obtained from defeated monsters.
- The latter are often much more difficult to defeat than minecraft. So each of your opponents fights differently and always trumps with surprising attacks. If Minecraft was too easy for you, you will quickly feel at home here.
- "Creativerse" is currently only available on Steam in Early Access for around 20 euros. Due to the early development phase, you can hope for numerous updates and new features.
2. Terasology: Minecraft clone with hammer graphics
Like Minecraft, "Terasology" is based on Java. Although it was initially only intended as a graphics engine, it has now developed into a full-fledged game.
- In terms of content, there are hardly any differences between the two block games: You dismantle different blocks to use them elsewhere for your own creations. Items and opponents are also similar.
- In terms of graphics, however, the clone has the edge: thanks to the depth of field, flying blocks and great light calculations, the world of blocks from "Terasology" looks impressive.
- Despite the good graphics, the Minecraft clone shows the early development phase. For example, the number of blocks and crafting options is still very limited.
- "Terasology" is available for free download for Windows, Mac and Linux.
3. Terraria: Minecraft-like game in 2D
At first glance, "Terraria" doesn't seem to have anything to do with Minecraft. If you take a closer look, you can discover one of the best clones here:
- Due to the 2D graphics, "Terraria" looks even simpler than the original. Still, it's no less fun. Whether you are exploring deep caves, fighting monsters at night or facing big bosses - the diversity of the pixel game ensures long-lasting fun.
- The focus here is less on building your own game world. Rather, you are constantly looking for hidden boxes with weapons and armor and are fighting against stronger and stronger opponents.
- "Terraria" currently costs 9 euros for Windows. Android users can play the game on the go for around 4 euros.
4. Brick-Force: Minecraft meets Counter Strike
The Free2Play game "Brick-Force" is visually reminiscent of Minecraft. In terms of content, there are numerous differences:
- With "Brick-Force" you build your own world first. Use a block syringe to pick up the surrounding blocks and set them down elsewhere.
- After that, however, you do not defend yourself against nocturnal monsters, but against other players: in multiplayer, grab a weapon and fight against your friends in your own built world. Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Team Deathmatch are available as game modes.
- You can play "Brick-Force" for free on your computer.
If you want to stay with Minecraft, you can add variety to the game with Costum Maps. We'll show you how to use puzzle maps or play survival games in Minecraft.
