Horizon HD Recorder: This is how high the power consumption of the receiver is
The Horizon HD Recorder records TV programs for you. While this is convenient, you should keep an eye on the device's power consumption. We show you how much power the receiver really uses.
Power consumption of the Horizon HD recorder
- In operation, the performance of the Horizon HD recorder, i.e. the energy consumption per time, is a maximum of 47 watts.
- So if the recorder runs for an hour to record a series, this will result in about 0.05 kWh. At a price of 29 cents per kWh, that's about 1.5 cents.
- The performance is quite high even in standby. With approximately 20 watts, the recorder is one of the most power-hungry devices in a household.
- On a day when you do not use your recorder but leave the device in standby, about 0.5 kWh is consumed. Cost: About 14 cents.
- On the other hand, switch off the device completely, but leave it on, the consumption is very low. Then only around 1 watt is consumed. However, the best thing to do is to completely disconnect the Horizon HD Recorder from the power supply if you are not going to use the device for a long time (e.g. overnight or on vacation).
- Of course, electricity costs vary depending on your current usage. We will therefore show you how you can calculate the electricity costs very precisely.
