Soften the cornea - that's how it's done
By softening the cornea, it is easier to remove afterwards. You can prepare footbaths or a chamomile pack with simple household remedies.
How to soften the cornea
Before removing the cornea, you should soften it. This works best with foot baths or a chamomile pack.
- For the classic chamomile pack against cornea, put a tablespoon of chamomile flowers in a linen or cotton fabric. Pour three tablespoons of boiling water over this. Let the pack cool down briefly and press it on the cornea for 15 minutes. Repeat this several times a day until the skin is soft.
- Foot baths are a relaxing way to get rid of calluses. There are numerous variants. A proven bath against calluses is a salt bath. To do this, add sea salt or Dead Sea salt to your foot bath. The salt is also germicidal.
- Another effective foot bath is a mixture of mouthwash and vinegar. Put all three liquids in the same ratio in a bowl and bathe your feet in it for 15 minutes.
- Another proven help against cornea is baking soda. To do this, mix baking soda and warm water into a slime. Apply the mixture to the cornea. If you feel a slight tingling sensation, rinse your feet under lukewarm water.
So you get rid of the cornification
After your skin is softened, it is removed.
- Do not use sharp tools such as scissors or corneal planer, because the risk of injury is high here. Instead, use a pumice stone or a corneal file.
- The skin also dissolves with peels. For a sea salt peeling, mix a tablespoon of olive oil with a tablespoon of sea salt. After a massage with the peeling, leave it on for five minutes. Then rinse off the peeling. You can use this peeling up to four times a week.
- Another peeling variant consists of baking soda. To do this, add two tablespoons of baking soda to some liquid soap or shower gel and a few drops of essential oil.
