Hosteurope: Install and set up Wordpress
Hosteurope makes installing and setting up a website with WordPress fairly easy. You can find out exactly how in this practical tip.
Hosteurope: Install and set up Wordpress
- Open the Hosteurope website in the browser and log in with your access data.
- In the customer information system (HIS), select your product under the "Administration" menu item and then select "Configure".
- Under "Scripts" click on "Web Applications". Select "Wordpress" from the list of available web applications and then "Configure".
- You can use the drop-down menu to specify the domain on which Wordpress should be installed.
- Wordpress, like every CMS, requires a database. The easiest way to provide a database for installation is to "Create database automatically" in the preferences.
- You can also set the user rights for the installation in the preferences. You should only choose to install it as a web server user if you are already quite experienced in WordPress. As a beginner, you should leave the default setting at "No".
- Once you have made all the default settings, click on "Start configuration" and the configuration menu will appear.
- In this menu you define the user name and password for the WordPress installation. You can also enter the title for your WordPress page and determine an email address.
- When you click on "Complete installation", you can get started with your new WordPress site.
- Alternatively, you can of course also install Wordpress in the classic way. Instructions for installing Wordpress on a web space can be found in this article in our WordPress tips.
