1. Download the latest version of the Hotspot Shield VPN from the CHIP Online download area and run the EXE file.
2. When installing, make sure that you do not accidentally install the toolbar and change your start page.
3. Then select the "Language" item in the settings and tick "German".
4. Under "Network detection" you can determine whether Hotspot Shield should be activated automatically when you connect to a new or unknown network.
5. In the "General" tab you can activate or deactivate the autostart of Hotspot Shield. You can also show and hide the status display.
6. To start Hotspot Shield, press the "Start Protection" button. Under "Connected via" you can select the country code for your IP, for example the USA or Germany.
7. Your connection speed is also shown. You can deactivate Hotspot Shield VPN again using the "Pause Protection" button.
