Connect HTC to PC does not work - what to do?
Do you want to connect your HTC to your PC and it doesn't work? Then we will show you in this practical tip what you can do about it.
Connecting HTC to the PC is not possible - so you solve the problem
- If possible, try different USB ports on your PC and remove other devices that require power via USB during the connection - such as USB headsets or sticks.
- Make sure you are using the original HTC USB cable. Other cables may cause problems so that the PC cannot recognize your smartphone.
- Test the connection on other PCs to rule out that your smartphone has a defect.
- Uninstall HTC Sync Manager and driver completely from your PC. The freeware Revo Uninstaller is recommended. Then reinstall the software and driver.
- Switch off your virus scanner and firewall briefly while you are connected to your smartphone. However, you have to reactivate them afterwards, otherwise your PC is unprotected.
