Connect HTC Desire to the PC
If you connect your HTC Desire to your PC using a USB cable, you have several options. We will introduce you to the individual functions and tell you what they are used for.
Connect HTC Desire to the PC
If you connect your HTC Desire to your computer using the USB cable provided, you must select one of the following connection types on the smartphone screen:
- Charge only: Choose the first option if you only want to charge your HTC Desire on a computer.
- Hard drive: This option can only be used if you have inserted an additional SD card as storage in your HTC. In this case, you can access the memory and exchange data such as music, videos and apps between your computer and smartphone.
- HTC Sync Manager: If you have installed the HTC Sync Manager on your computer, you can use this option to allow the program to access your smartphone. You can then back up, sync, and manage your data from HTC Desire.
- USB connection: With this function you can use the mobile internet connection of your smartphone. This is useful if you don't have a LAN or WiFi connection for your laptop on the go. However, please note that much more data is used to load websites on the computer than on the smartphone. If you want to use this function, you should have an internet flat rate.
- Internet access: The other way round, the procedure is also possible. With the "Internet pass-through" option, you can forward your computer's Internet signal to your HTC Desire via USB.
This practical tip shows you how to use your HTC as a remote control for your TV.
