Sync HTC mobile phone with Outlook via Bluetooth
If you want to synchronize your HTC phone with Outlook, all you need is the Bluetooth function of the devices and the free ActiveSync software. This saves annoying USB cables and always brings both devices up to date. We'll show you how it's done in just a few steps.
Sync your HTC phone to Outlook via Bluetooth
In Windows, the synchronization of Outlook with the HTC mobile phone is done in the following steps:
- Both your computer and your smartphone need the right software, which you have to download and install. For Windows this is the MyPhoneExplorer and for your HTC mobile phone the free app MyPhoneExplorer Client.
- Switch on the Bluetooth function of both devices (PC and smartphone). Make sure that the cell phone and PC allow it to be recognized by other devices via Bluetooth.
- Open the MyPhoneExplorer after the installation. On the start screen click on the menu item File> Settings> Connection.
- Select "Mobile phone with Google Android systems" and "Connect via Bluetooth" as the mobile phone type. In the drop-down menu opposite, click on the COM port that your smartphone is using.
- Then select the "Synchronize" option in the left-hand menu and set the "Outlook 2010" options in the drop-down menus that your HTC mobile phone should synchronize accordingly.
- Now open the "MyPhoneExplorer Client" on your HTC mobile phone and select Bluetooth as the connection option.
- Then return to the computer software and select File> Connect.
- After a few minutes, the process is complete and you can access your HTC phone under Tools> "Control cell phone from PC".
- General tip: Restart both your HTC phone and your computer from time to time, especially after installing both programs for the first time and before making any initial settings. Even if you are not explicitly asked to do so by the software - many problems, especially with regard to device detection, can be solved quickly.
