HTC One X: replace the battery - so it'll work

Preparing to change the battery on HTC One X

These tools are required for the following steps:

• Phillips screwdriver
• A plastic tool for opening cases. Here you can alternatively use a guitar pick or an old credit card.

Let's go to the battery of HTC One X

Proceed as follows so that you can replace the battery as easily as possible:

1. First remove the SIM card from the SIM slot.
2. Then start with the plastic tool next to the SIM slot and carefully pry apart the front and rear half of the housing.
3. Then, with a credit card or other plastic part, carefully drive around the case and pry off the rear case cover all around.
4. If the battery sticks to the rear part of the housing, you can use a hair dryer to heat and soften the adhesive. Then the glue can be levered out with the credit card.
5. Now place the front of the phone on the displas so that you can look at the circuit board.
6. Remove the five Phillips screws that are now visible.
7. Then you have to loosen three cable connectors that can be carefully pried open with little effort.
8. Now you can remove the ribbon cable to the right of the battery. To do this, you have to open the white fastener.
9. Then the entire electronics can be removed from the front housing part.
10. You will find the battery block for HTC One X under the copper foil. Carefully pull off the foil and remove the battery connector. Now the battery can be removed and replaced.
11. Then reassemble the device in reverse order.
