Huawei: retrieve app drawer - how it works
Huawei uses its own homescreen for its Honor devices, which does without the well-known app drawer of other Android versions. You can get the app collection back in two different ways.
Set up improvised app drawer on Huawei phones
You can hide certain apps on every Huawei phone and swipe the list back up. That doesn't quite match the classic app drawer, but it comes very close to it.
- If you pull two fingers apart on your home screen, the "Hidden Applications" view opens.
- Tap on the plus symbol and select from the list all applications that should no longer appear on your normal homescreen.
- Later open the "App Drawer" with the hidden applications again using the swipe gesture.
Restore app drawer using a third party app
If you don't like the improvised app drawer from Huawei, you have to use a third-party app. Here are some good tools:
- "AppDrawer (MIUI App Drawer)": With this free app you get a copy of the classic app drawer on your Huawei smartphone. Start the tool and you will find all the apps you can freely arrange here. So that you do not have all the apps on your homescreen, you should hide unnecessary icons as described in the first paragraph.
- New launcher: Alternatively, use a completely new launcher. This replaces your Huawei surface with a new design. You can then completely adapt the alternative app drawer according to your wishes and also reactivate the app drawer. You can find the currently best Android launcher in our photo gallery.
