Root Huawei - remove bootloader
- First download the ADB and Fasboot files here.
- You must also download the ADB installer here.
- Run the installer and follow the instructions. You can unzip the other files on your desktop.
- You must then activate the developer options on your Huawei.
- Then activate "OEM unlocking" and "USB debugging" in the developer options.
- Now you need the so-called unlock code, which you can request on this page.
- Log in there or create your free Huawei ID. Then accept the terms and create your nickname.
Root Huawei - further steps to remove bootloader
- The next step is to fill out a form. Select your smartphone above. Under "Product Model" enter the model number, which you can find under "Settings"> "Via phone".
- You will find the "Product Serial Number" on the packaging of the smartphone. Enter the IMEI number in the "IMEI" field, which you can also find under "Over the phone".
- You will receive the "Product ID" if you execute the code "* # * # 1357946 # * # *" under "Telephone". For security, you must enter the security code displayed.
- Press "Submit" and leave the page open. It will still be needed in the later process.
- Now open the "CMD.bat" file from the "Fastboot and ADB" folder.
- Then switch off your Huawei and then press Power and Volume Up to start the device in Fastboot mode. Then connect it to the PC.
- Enter the "fastboot devices" command in CMD to check whether the device has been recognized.
- If this is the case, you can unlock the boot loader with "fastboot oem unlock" followed by the personal number. You can copy the number from the browser window that is still open.
- You confirm this process on the smartphone by pressing the volume up and power button.
Root Huawei - final settings
- In order for rooting to work, you need the right files for your system. You can download this from the Internet.
- Also download the Android app Super SU on your Huawei so that you can manage Root.
- Now switch your Huawei off and put it into Fasboot mode as described above. Then connect it to the PC.
- Then open the "CMD" file in the "ADB and Fastboot" folder as described above. Enter "fastboot devices" to ensure that the device has been recognized.
- With the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery_twrp.img" the Huawei is then flashed. Enter "fastboot reboot" to restart the device.
- In the next step you have to switch off the device and start recovery mode using the Power and Volume Up buttons.
- A Chinese surface awaits you. First swipe from left to right, then tap the penultimate button on the right, and then tap the globe in the top right.
- There you can change the language to "English". Tap the button below to save the change.
- Then tap "Advanced"> "Root Device" and swipe right to start rooting.
- Wait for the process to complete, then tap Reboot System.
- Finally, open the SuperSU app to confirm rooting the Huawei device.
