If the first-person shooter game Hunt: Showdown jerks, you can increase the FPS and play more smoothly. We show you how to do this in this game tip.
Hunt: Showdown - the right graphics settings
You can already increase the FPS using the graphics setting - this also works for Hunt: Showdown. Note:
- The resolution should match the resolution of your monitor. It also helps if you select "full screen" as the window mode.
- You should also switch off "V-Sync" to achieve a smoother game flow.
- Deactivating the "motion blur" also increases the FPS.
If the game jerky: Increase FPS on the console
In the game, you can increase the FPS from the console:
- First, you need to know how much VRAM you have. To find out, press the [Windows] key and enter "dxdiag" in the text box. If you then switch to the "Display" tab, the VRAM will be displayed there.
- Once you have started the game, open the console with the tilde key (~).
- Enter the command "r_TexturesStreamPoolSize" in the console and then close the console again.
- This step increases the FPS. However, it only affects the current game. So you have to repeat this process every time you restart Hunt: Schowdown.
Edit configuration file for higher FPS
You can optimize the configuration file to increase the FPS. However, you should only follow these steps if you are familiar with this file.
- The configuration file "system.cfg" is in the directory of Hunt: Showdown. As a rule, it is stored under the path "C: \ Program Files (X86) \ Steam \ Steamapps \ Common \ Hunt Showdown".
- Open this file. A suitable program can be found in our download area. Then copy the content of this page into system.cfg. You can adjust the settings and keep certain default settings that are important to you.
- If you save the file, the new settings are applied and the FPS should be higher.
