HypoVereinsbank spam: Card temporarily blocked
The email from the fraudsters who pretend HypoVereinsbank to be the sender is actually a phishing email. It aims to "fish" data from bank customers and misuse it for criminal purposes. Do not open any attachments and do not click on the links in the mail. Otherwise you run the risk of installing malware. You can recognize the forgery by various features:
- There is a link in the mail to confirm your card. If you follow the link, you will be asked to enter your customer data. You should always be suspicious when you are asked by email to release sensitive data via a link.
- Move the mouse over the link and you will see the Internet address to which it leads. This has nothing to do with HypoVereinsbank.
- The same applies to the sender: move the mouse over it or tap it on your cell phone to see the sender's address. The HypoVereinsbank email comes from the address " ". A company like HypoVereinsbank never has the domain ".org".
- If you read the mail carefully, you will notice spelling and grammatical errors. Another indication that this is not a legitimate message.
- The fraudsters don't know your name. Therefore, something general such as "Dear Sir or Madam" or your email address will be used as a title.
- If you have unmasked the phishing email as such, it is best to move it to the trash right away and delete it.
