If iCloud Drive doesn't sync your data that's annoying. After all, iCloud should make it easier for you to handle data. We'll show you what you can do to solve the problem.
iCloud Drive no longer syncs files
On up to ten Apple devices with iOS and also Windows computers, Apple's iCloud Drive can always keep your data in sync and thus up to date. Apple provides you with 5GB of storage space in the iCloud free of charge. In addition to the synchronization of contacts, the calendar and Co,, there is also the possibility of family sharing. You can even encrypt your passwords and other sensitive data in iCloud.
If the synchronization does not work for you, there is not necessarily an error. In most cases, the following suggested solutions help:
- First, check your devices for an existing internet connection. It often helps if you disconnect your router from the power supply for 1-2 minutes and then re-establish an internet connection.
- Make sure the iCloud Drive service is currently available. Apple makes this information available at all times. A green dot indicates that everything is OK.
- Another option is that your iCloud storage space is full. Check this and delete any content you no longer need. Or you can expand your storage space for a fee.
- Make sure you have the latest versions of Keynote, Numbers and Pages installed on your gardens. You should also check whether your devices meet the minimum requirements for using iCloud Drive. Requirements for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch: iOS 8 requirements for Mac: OS X Yosemite requirements for PC: Windows 7 and iCloud for Windows 4.1
- Try signing in to iCloud on all of your devices you’re syncing with and then turn on iCloud Drive.
- Once you have gone through all the points, you can, for example, create a document and load it into iCloud. If this works now, check whether your other files are now also loaded into the iCloud.
- If all the steps have not worked, all that remains is the way through Apple's customer service. Apple recommends that you save your updated data in a new folder or directly on your device. Stay signed in to iCloud when you contact support.
