iCloud - how to set up family sharing
If you grant family approval, every member has the option of using your Apple payment method and can use it to buy music or apps, for example. You should only grant access to trusted people. A prerequisite for the setup is that you have set up at least iOS 8 on the iPhone or at least macOS X Yosemite on the Mac.
- To set up sharing on your iOS device, open Settings.
- There you click on your name and then on "Set up family sharing ...".
- On the following screen, tap Get Started.
- Then you have to confirm your account and the common payment method.
- You can also share it on your Mac. To do this, open the system settings and click on "iCloud".
- Once you have opened the settings, you will see the "Set up family" item on the left. Click this button and follow the instructions to set it up.
- If family sharing is enabled in this way, you can create a group. In total, a group can include six people. You can use it to invite a maximum of five family members or friends.
- To invite someone, you must enter their email address, which is linked to the person's Apple ID.
- An invitation is then sent to the person and they can join your group.
