iCloud: Delete iOS backup - how it works
If you want to make space in your iCloud, you can delete an older iOS backup, for example. We'll show you how it's done in this practical tip.
Instructions: Delete iOS Backup
The paths to iOS iCloud backup differ only slightly between the different iOS versions.
- If you are using iOS 11 or a newer version, go to "Settings -> Your name -> iCloud -> Manage storage -> Backups" to get to the required setting.
- Under iOS 10.3 the way is: "Settings -> Your Name -> iCloud Storage -> Manage Storage".
- If you still have an older version on your iOS device, select the following path: "Settings -> iCloud -> Manage storage".
- Here you will find the name of your iOS device. Tap on this and select "Delete backup".
- You can also delete the iOS backup from your Mac from iCloud.
- To do this, call up the system settings and first select the "iCloud" item.
- Then go to "Manage".
- Click on the "Backups" item. On the right side select the iOS device whose backup you want to delete.
- Click "delete" here and the backup is deleted.
