Encrypt iCloud - does it work?
Apple does not consistently encrypt the data in iCloud. Therefore, users have to use third-party software to encrypt the files before uploading them. We'll show you how to make your iCloud unbreakable.
Encrypt iCloud: BoxCryptor
Apple itself does not consistently encrypt iCloud users' files. For more security you have to take action yourself:
- To make your iCloud secure, you should first set a secure password.
- Two-way authentication offers additional protection. Each time you log in, you will be asked to enter a PIN that will be sent to your cell phone.
- If you want to be on the safe side, encrypt the files you upload with an additional program. The free tool Boxcryptor automatically encrypts all files before uploading. We also have instructions for encrypting with BoxCryptor.
On the next page we will show you how to save your notes on iPhone with Touch ID.
