If you want to use the icons from EXE files as images, you can extract them with special software. In this practical tip, we will show you how it's done.

- First, download and install the free Resource Hacker tool.
- Click on "File" in the upper left corner of the software and select the "Open" option.
- Now search for the desired EXE file on your computer.
- Open the "Icons" folder on the left and you will find the icon you are looking for here.
- The icons are often available in different sizes, sometimes also in some variations. In the "Icon Group" folder you can see the dimensions of the respective icons.
- Right-click on the icon and select the "Copy" option.
- Now you can insert the picture in Word, Paint or other programs.
