IE9: Switch to Google search
In IE9, Bing is the default search engine and not Google search. If you want to switch to Google as a standard search, you have to do it yourself. We'll show you how it's done.
Internet Explorer 9: Switch Bing search to Google search
- Click on the gear icon at the top right of the screen and select "Internet Options".
- In the "General" tab you will find the "Search" item in the middle. Next to this, click on the "Settings" button.
- A new window opens in which you click on the blue link "Search for more search providers" at the bottom left.
- A new window opens in which you can find all search providers. Google should now be found at the bottom. Click on this search result.
- You will be forwarded again. Click the "Add to Internet Explorer" button here.
- There is a query. Activate the checkmark in front of the item "Set this provider as the standard provider for this quick info category" and click on the "Add" button (see image).
- You can now close all windows. Google is now set up as a new search provider.
