iexplore.exe - what is it?
If you find the "iexplore.exe" process in Task Manager, the name does not directly reveal what it actually is. We clarify it.
iexplorer.exe - that is behind the Task Manager entry
- The iexplore.exe process is Internet Explorer. When the browser is started, the iexplorer process also starts.
- As a rule, the process is completely harmless. If the process runs even though you are not using Internet Explorer at all, you should be taken aback.
iexplore.exe: Internet Explorer or Virus?
- Find the process in Task Manager and right-click on it. If you select the "Open file path" option, the storage space will be displayed.
- The file should normally be in the path "C: \ Program Files \ Internet Explorer". If this is not the case, it may be malware that disguises itself as Internet Explorer.
- You should only suspect if the process is also running without Internet Explorer being started. In this case, we recommend that you check your computer with an anti-virus scanner.
