Remove Ilivid - so it'll work
If "Ilivid" has nested in your system, you should remove the adware quickly. "Ilivid" disturbs you while surfing and the tool changes your browser settings. This tip shows you how to get rid of the adware and protect yourself in the future.
Remove Ilivid from the system
"Ilivid" often gets onto the computer by installing various software. Therefore, remove both "Ilivid" and other programs that you installed on the same day:
- Click on "Start" and go to "Control Panel".
- Choose Program> Uninstall a Program.
- Click on "Installed on ..." to sort the programs according to their installation date. Search for "iLivid" and "Search-Results Toolbar". Then select the "Uninstall" button.
- Also remove any remaining software that you installed on your system that day.
Reset the browsers - Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome
Since "Ilivid" has changed a lot in your browsers, you have to reset the settings:
- For Firefox, enter "about: config" in the address bar. Search for "Keyword.url" here. Find an entry, right-click it and then select "Reset". Then search for "browser.search.defaultengine" and also reset this entry.
- In Chrome, click the three horizontal stripes in the top right corner and select "Settings". Click on "Show advanced settings". Scroll all the way down and select "Reset browser settings".
- In Internet Explorer click on the arrow in the top right corner of the search bar. Click on "Manage search providers" or "Change search settings". Search for "Ilivid" and remove it from the list.
