iMessage in Mavericks: Block contacts - Here's how
Since version 10.9.2 of OS X Mavericks, you can also block contacts on iMessage on Mac. We show you how it works.
Block iMessage contacts on Mac
On iPhone and iPad, you can block contacts with just a few clicks. This now works on Mac OS X Mavericks:
- Open the messaging app on your Mac.
- In the top left, click on "Messages" in the menu bar. Then open "Settings".
- On the left you can see the list of your accounts. Select "iMessage" here.
- Switch to the "Blocked" tab on the right.
- To block a contact, you must now press the plus (+).
- Now you can select a contact and put the numbers and e-mail addresses on the "blacklist" that annoy you.
