iMovie: Create Slow Motion & Fast Motion
In iMovie, it's easy to use slow-motion and fast-motion effects to bring more dynamism to videos. We will show you how to do this here.
Fast and slow motion in iMovie
Do you want to enjoy your dream goal from the last soccer game with the company team in slow motion or do you want to replay a shot of the city center during rush hour? In iMovie, it's just a few clicks until you fascinate your viewers with impressive fast and slow motion effects:
- Open iMovie and create a new event by clicking on the corresponding entry in the "File" menu.
- Add a video to the event via "Import" in the "File" menu or import a film from a camera via the menu item "Import from camera".
- In the event window, select the desired video section with the yellow markers and drag and drop it into your project window.
- Click the thumbnail of your video twice in the project window to open the information window.
- Drag the speed control to the left towards the small turtle symbol for a slow motion effect or towards the rabbit symbol for fast motion to the right. Then confirm by clicking on "Done".
