To create an interactive PDF, you need a good program like Adobe Acrobat Pro. We will show you in a tutorial how to do this.
Create PDF form with Adobe Acrobat
Adobe Acrobat Pro is the most suitable program because it was created by the developers of the PDF file format and thus guarantees maximum compatibility. With a price of over 500 euros, it is very expensive. But don't worry: with us you can find both the free 30-day demo and numerous cheap alternatives.
- To create an interactive PDF, you first need the basic document. With Adobe Acrobat Pro you can open almost all types of documents. So you can create your document first in any writing program like Word.
- Once you have created your document, save it and export it as a PDF file.
- Open Adobe Acrobat Pro and open your exported PDF document.
- In the "Tools" tab you can now make your PDF file interactive under "Forms". If you work on Mac, the "Tools" tab is in the "View" category.
- In the right sidebar you will find the "Create" selection. Press here.
- Then select "Current document" and click "Next" to convert the opened file into an interactive PDF form.
- Now you have to select "Edit form" in the sidebar to get into the edit mode.
- Now you can add fields, checkboxes, dropdown menus and more using the tools in the top bar.
- Once you have added all of the fields, you can still drag the fields in the sidebar. So the user can later switch from one field to the next with the tab.
- Finally, all you have to do is "Close form editing" and save your PDF file via the sidebar.
