As in other web browsers, you can set web pages as favorites in Internet Explorer. We'll show you where to find their location on Windows 7 and Windows 10.
Internet Explorer: How to find the location of the favorites
Internet Explorer does not write favorites to a single file, but saves them individually. This allows you to easily copy, move and structure them in folders. You can find the storage location as follows:
- Press the key combination [Win] + [R] and enter the word favorites in the Run dialog. Confirm with the OK button.
- The directory with the favorites created in Internet Explorer now opens. Each address is saved as a separate URL file with the respective icon of the website and can therefore be found quickly.
- Alternatively, open the path C: \ Users \ Users \ Favorites in Windows Explorer or another file manager, replacing users with the user name of your Windows account.
- Note that some file managers display the user directory as "user". Accordingly, the "Favorites" directory is then displayed as "Favorites".
