Internet Explorer crashes - what to do?
Internet Explorer crashes while browsing when there is a serious problem. In this tip, you will read how to find and fix the problem.
Update Internet Explorer and prevent crashes
If Internet Explorer keeps crashing, you should update your browser to the latest version. This not only improves stability, but also security.
- Download the final version of Internet Explorer 10.
- Start the installation and follow the instructions of the setup. Note that this will delete your old version.
Check plug-ins
If the browser still crashes, it may also be due to plug-ins.
- Open Internet Explorer and click on the small gear as shown in the picture.
- Click "Manage Add-ons".
- Now you will see a list of all installed plug-ins. Select each plug-in one by one and deactivate it.
- After each deactivated plug-in, check whether the browser is still crashing. If so, you can reactivate the add-on if you need it.
