Internet Explorer: restore history with cache
- Open Internet Explorer and click the settings icon in the top right.
- Select the "Internet Options" item and switch to the "General" tab in the next window.
- Under "Browsing history", click "Settings".
- Then select "Show files" in the settings window.
- You will now see all files and websites that you have visited. With a right click in an empty space you can sort the files under "Sort by" by internet address or time of the last access.
Internet Explorer: restore history with CMD
You can also use Command Prompt to restore internet history. However, only the web pages of the last session are displayed here:
- Open the command prompt by opening the Start menu in Windows 7 and searching for "CMD". In Windows 8, go to the start page and enter "CMD". Select the entry found.
- Now enter "ipconfig / displaydns | find" entry name "".
