Test Internet availability of HSDPA, UMTS and LTE
Do you want to use mobile internet via a data card? Then it is good to know what the availability of UMTS, HSDPA and LTE is. We'll show you how to check network coverage.
Test network coverage for mobile internet - how it works
Before you sign up for a prepaid card or a contract for mobile internet, it is always good to know what bandwidth you can achieve with the mobile data connection.
- At Telekom, Vodafone, O2 and E-Plus you can check the network availability on the website by entering the address.
- But it is also faster. If you do not want to query the availability of each provider individually, you can query the Internet availability for all networks at the same time at HSDPA-UMTS-Verwaltung.de.
What is the fastest internet speed?
If EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA and LTE do not really say anything to you, we will clarify them.
- GPRS and EDGE are the slowest internet connections. With GPRS you can surf at only 56 Kbit / s. After all, EDGE already has 220 Kbit / s.
- UMTS is a bit faster. You can already surf comfortably on your smartphone. UMTS has a transmission rate of 376 Kbit / s.
- Depending on the expansion and network strength, HSDPA creates a download rate of 3.6 Mbit / s to 14.4 Mbit / s.
- LTE is currently the fastest internet connection. The latest radio standard creates up to 100 Mbit / s. However, this top speed is usually only achieved in the inner cities of the major cities.
