The lock screen was revised with iOS 10, but with the right option you can get the old unlock function back. We'll show you how it's done.
Restore old unlock function under iOS 10
- If you swipe from left to right under iOS 10, the message center opens. Unfortunately, the iPhone can no longer be unlocked by swiping.
- The home button must now be pressed on all devices. If you use a device with Touch ID, you can, however, use the old unlock method or the additional pressure on the home button.
- If you use an iPhone 5 or 5C, you can only do a little. In the first weeks after the release, you still have a downgrade to iOS 9.
iOS 10: Unlock iPhone only with Touch ID
- First open the "Settings" app on your iPhone or iPad.
- You will now find the "Accessibility" under the "General" category.
- Tap on the "Home button" item and activate the "Lay on finger to open" option.
- The iPhone is now unlocked by Touch ID, an additional pressure on the home button is no longer necessary.
