Dark Mode for iOS 10: Apple is lagging behind
- Android has had it (unofficially) for years and even Windows introduced it with Windows 10: Dark Mode has long been overdue on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
- In the official launch of iOS 10, however, there was nothing to see or hear about a dark mode. Nevertheless, there were high hopes that the dark mode with iOS 10 would finally appear.
iOS 10: Dark Mode is finally coming - or not
- A reference to dark mode was discovered in the first beta version of iOS 10. The night mode has already been integrated in the code in this version, but has been placed somewhat hidden. Although the Facebook Messenger itself was running in night mode in the beta version, none of it can be seen now.
- The Apple app iBooks had been equipped with a night mode since iOS 7, with iOS 10 the watch app was also painted black. However, the dark mode did not make it into the final version in iOS 10.
- Since Apple only integrated the Night Shift mode with iOS 9.3, you probably save the dark mode for a while. IOS 11 may finally come with the long-awaited night mode.
