- A precise date for the release of iOS 10 has not yet been officially confirmed.
- But it is clear that the new software will be released together with the iPhone 7 in September.
- The beta version for developers is already available, the public beta version will probably be released in July.
iOS 10: Which devices are supported?
- Apple removes some outdated devices from the list of supported iDevices with iOS 10.
- Apple deleted the iPhone 4S, the iPad 2 and the iPad 3. iOS 10 is not available for these devices.

iOS 10: innovations at a glance
Apple brings some innovations for iPhone and iPad with iOS 10:
- Lock screen: iOS is probably the biggest change to the lock screen design since the iPhone was launched. Notifications should appear in a new look and 3D touch will be integrated.
- Siri: Siri opens with iOS 10 for third-party apps. For example, you can also use Siri to search for train connections or send WhatsApp messages.
- Apple Music: Hardly a year there, Apple Music already gets a new design. It should be easier to use in iOS 10 and display lyrics.
- Photos: The photo app is revised and gets new features. With facial recognition, iOS should combine and sort photos into albums.
