iOS 10: add and remove widgets - how it works
One of the big innovations in iOS 10 are the revised widgets. You can read how to add and remove new widgets in this practical tip.
Add and remove widgets in iOS 10
You can easily add widgets to your lock screen. All you have to do is install the app that provides a widget.
- Then swipe right on the lock screen or homescreen to open the widgets. Alternatively, you can find the widget view in the Notification Center.
- Now scroll all the way down. There you will find a round button with the lettering "Edit".
- If you tap this, you will see the "Add widget" view, which you can see on the right in the picture.
- At the top are all apps that are currently activated. Scroll down a bit to "More Widgets". All apps are listed here that offer a widget that you have not yet added.
- Now tap on an entry to activate the corresponding widget. With the three crossbars on the right side you can adjust the order of the widgets.
- Tip: To remove a widget from view, tap the red circle to the left of the widget name, then tap Remove.
