iOS 12: Disable grouping of notifications - how it works
In iOS 12, notifications are automatically grouped by app. Of course, you can also deactivate this and - as in previous iOS versions - have all notifications displayed separately. We show how it works.
Disable grouping of notifications on iOS 12
The notification grouping under iOS 12 causes messages from the same app to be overlaid. This should provide a better overview on the homescreen. You can also change the display.
- The easiest way to get to the relevant settings is to open the message center and swipe a message to the left. Then tap on the "Manage" item.
- You will then be presented with various options for notifying this app. Tap Settings to see all of the options.
- If you scroll down here, you will find the menu item "Message groups". Here you can choose between the modes "Automatic", "By App" and "Off".
- To deactivate the grouping select the option "Off".
- Please note that the setting only affects notifications for the respective app. If you generally do not want grouped messages, you must select the option "Message groups"> "Off" for each individual app.
