iOS 13 with long-awaited innovations
IOS 13 is expected to be released in autumn 2019. If you would like to try out the innovations beforehand, you can already install iOS 13 Beta.
- Dark mode: Now it is there, the dark mode. After Mac OS already has it, iOS 13 now brings Dark Mode to the iPhone.
- QuickPath: Android users have known and used the Swype keyboard for a long time. This feature is new for Apple users. You no longer have to type each letter individually on the keyboard. A swipe over the approximate order of the letters is enough for the correct word to be recognized.
- New photo app: The structure of the photo app has changed with iOS 13. Images are sorted by topic or by apps such as Whatsapp. You can also edit videos with the Photo app in the future.
- Sign In with Apple: Another innovation that iOS 13 brings with it is the option to register with the "Sign In with Apple" service on websites and compatible apps. You can also use face ID, touch ID or two-factor authentication as secure variants.
Additional features of iOS 13
In addition to the innovations already mentioned, the iOS 13 comes up with improvements.
- Siri with a new voice: With iOS 13, Siri should now sound more natural and no longer as mechanical.
- Memories: The reminders app comes with a new look and is easier to organize.
- Memoji: The sticker packs for the iOS keyboard contain memojis.
- Apple Maps: The app will have a new map view and will show detailed map data from 2020. You can use the look-around function beforehand, which is reminiscent of Google's Street View.
