iOS 8: Use DuckDuckGo as a Safari search engine
With the integration of DuckDuckGo, a data protection-friendly search engine lands in a well-known browser for the first time. DuckDuckGo does not collect your personal data, nor does the search engine track your current location.
- First, open the "Settings" app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
- Scroll down a little and select the category "Safari".
- At the top you will now see the "Search engine" option.
- Simply select "DuckDuckGo" here. However, the search results are currently largely in English.
