iOS 9.3: How Night Shift Mode Works
With iOS 9.3 the Night Shift mode is available on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This practical tip shows you how the blue light filter works and how you can use the function.
Night shift mode in iOS 9.3: how it works
- The Night Shift mode is intended to help Apple users fall asleep. If you use your iPhone or iPad for a long time at night before going to bed, this can lead to problems with the sleep rhythm.
- The reason for this is the blue part of the display. This is minimized by the night shift mode, so that a warmer color spectrum is created. Apple emphasizes that this problem does not affect all users.
- To use the Night Shift mode, you need comparatively new models. The iPhone 5S, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPod touch 6 and all newer devices are supported.
iOS 9.3: Switch on night shift mode - how it works
- To use the Night Shift mode, all you have to do is open the Control Center. To do this, place your finger on the bottom of the screen and swipe up.
- If you tap on the symbol next to the alarm clock and calculator, night shift mode is activated and optionally deactivated. Further settings can be found in the next paragraph.
