Every year a new iOS version appears, but it no longer runs on all devices. We show you who gets the update to iOS 9 and which devices remain on an older version.
iOS 9: who gets the update?
- Apple will release its new mobile operating system on September 16, 2015. You can download the update both on the PC and directly on the device via WLAN. Here you will find suitable instructions.
- iOS 9 runs on all devices that also run iOS 8. However, some features may not be available on older devices for performance reasons.
- Especially on the iPhone 4S, an update can have negative consequences. In the beta version of iOS 9, the performance on the iPhone 4S left a lot to be desired. Since the iPhone 4S is a bit older, it becomes slower than faster under iOS 9.
