iPhone & iPad: Set up the news app on iOS 9
Note: You can currently only use the News app in the USA. The service will probably not be activated for Germany until 2016. This practical tip shows you how you can still use the News app in Germany.
- Open the News app and tap the "Get Started" button in the middle to start the setup.
- You can now select all the newspapers and magazines you want, such as the New York Times.
- Categories such as cooking, traveling and reading are also available. Once you've added all the newspapers, tap Done in the top right corner.
- Then you end up in your personal news feed. Swipe down to find all messages selected based on your interests.
Tips and tricks for using the news app
- Once you've opened and read any article, just swipe right to open the next article. If you would like to select your next article, you will find your "favorites" below.
- If you are reading an article and tapping the screen with your finger, some functions appear below. Here you can, for example, bookmark an article, mark it as a favorite or send it to friends by email or SMS.
- If you tap on the "Explore" category below, you will find many interesting articles here that have not yet been covered by your interests. With "Search" you can search for other interests or newspapers.
