iOS 9: Use Slide Over - how it works
With Slide Over, you can open two apps in parallel on iOS 9, but not use them at the same time. This way you avoid the constant switch between two apps that you use a lot. We'll show you how the new feature works in detail.
iPad: Use Slide Over under iOS 9
The slide-over function can currently only be used on iOS 9 on the iPad Pro, the iPad Air 1 and 2 and with the iPad Mini 2, 3 and 4. Older devices have not received the feature.
- Open any app on your tablet and put your finger on the right edge of the screen.
- Then drag your finger from the outside to the center of the display until the slide-over menu opens.
- All apps that you can also open next to your current program appear automatically here.
- If you select an application, it will be started in a reduced form. If you tap the left area, the slide over menu will be closed again.
- Tip: To close an app in the slide-over menu, drag it from the top to the bottom.
