iPad Pro 9.7 inch: Error 56 with iOS update 9.3.2
- On May 16, Apple released the update for iOS 9.3.2. Actually, the little update should only fix some bugs. Instead, it directly created a new problem.
- Numerous users are affected by the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro. With all other devices, you can safely install the update for iOS 9.3.2. If you are using an iPad Pro, it is probably too late to wait.
- During the installation, Error 56 suddenly appears on the iPad display. The user is asked to connect and reset the device with iTunes. However, that shouldn't work. According to the Apple database, Error 56 is a hardware error.
iPad Pro: How to fix Error 56
- A similar problem only occurred in February when updating to iOS 9.2.1. If users did not have their home button with Touch ID changed at Apple, there was also an error message during the update. Here the problem was solved by another update.
- This will probably also be the case with the current Error 56. In the event of this error message, Apple recommends resetting the device via iTunes. If that doesn't work, all you have to do is wait for an update from Apple soon.
- Make sure that you update iTunes beforehand and use the original cable. If the recovery does not work, Apple even recommends a second try. If iTunes does not recognize the iPad Pro, start it in DFU mode.
