iPad: delete and uninstall apps
On the iPad, you can delete any app that you have installed yourself. Since iOS 10, you can also uninstall a large number of the pre-installed apps. A new installation is possible at any time via the App Store.
- Hold your finger on an app for about two seconds until all the apps start shaking.
- Press the cross in the top left corner of the app.
- A small window opens. Here, tap on "Delete".
- With many game apps, you will be asked again if you want to save the saved games. Select either "Remove" or "Keep" there.
- Note: Alternatively, you can delete the apps in the "Settings" app under "General" and "Use".
Delete pre-installed apps on the iPad
- Since iOS 10, you can also delete most of the pre-installed apps. These apps can also be downloaded from the App Store after deinstallation.
- If you use an iPad with an older iOS version, you can use other tricks. Either delete the pre-installed apps via a jailbreak or hide them via a gap in the system.
iPad: Apps cannot be deleted
- If you want to delete apps on your iPad, but they don't start to wiggle, this is due to a certain setting.
- First open the "Settings" app and select the "Restrictions" in the "General" category.
- If the restrictions are activated, you must deactivate the "Delete apps" option. Then try again.
