iPad: External batteries for more power
If your iPad runs out of juice quickly, you should consider buying an external battery. This practical tip shows you which "Powerpacks" are particularly suitable for your iPad.
The compact single-use charger: Anker Astro E3
With the "Anker Astro E3" you can fully charge your iPad once. Its size is comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S4. Because of this compact design, you can easily transport the Powerpack in your pocket.
- It also has two USB inputs into which you can insert your USB charging cable from the iPad.
- With a capacity of 10, 000mAh and a charge strength of 3A, the Anker Astro E3 quickly recharges your iPad.
- When the anchor Astro E3 runs out of juice, simply plug the supplied USB micro cable into your laptop and hang the anchor on it. It takes about eight hours to fully charge.
- For about 30 euros, the E3 is quite cheap.
Charge up to four devices simultaneously with the "Easy Acc"
With 12, 000mAh, the "Easy Acc" has a little more charging capacity than the "Anker Astro E3". The additional power makes the "Easy Acc" 14.2 cm x 7.3 cm x 2.3 cm larger than the "Anker".
- It also has four USB ports, at which you can charge iPad, smartphone and MP3 player at the same time.
- A bag for accessories is included with the Easy Acc free of charge.
- The charge strength of 2.1A is lower than that of the anchor, but four devices can be charged at the same time.
- At around 35 euros, it is only marginally more expensive than the "Anker Astro E3".
The muscle man with 15, 000mAh: the "Anker Astro E5"
With a capacity of 15, 000mAh and a charge strength of 3A, you can charge your iPad almost twice. An LED is also built into the "Anker Astro E5", which you can use as a flashlight at the push of a button.
- At around 12.5 cm x 7.5 cm x 2.5 cm, it is hardly larger than the "Easy Acc".
- With its two USB ports, you can also charge your smartphone in addition to your iPad.
- For around 37 euros (at the time of testing), the "Anker Astro E5" has the best price-performance ratio among the three power packs.
