iPad: Secret tricks and features on iOS 7
With the update to iOS 7, Apple has given the iPad secret functions. We'll show you the secret tricks.
1. Undo deleted emails
If you have accidentally deleted e-mails from your mailbox, you can now undo the deletion. All you have to do is shake your iPad to restore the deleted emails from the trash.
- Tip: This also applies to deleted phrases when writing. Once you have deleted too much, you can undo it by shaking it.
2. Split and move the keyboard in landscape mode
With the help of this function you can halve the keyboard in landscape mode, i.e. in landscape format.
- Open the keyboard and turn your iPad into landscape mode.
- At the bottom right is a keyboard icon that you open and then select the split function.
- Alternatively, swipe from the center of the keyboard with two fingers on the respective edges of your iPad.
- If you want to reconnect the keyboard, simply slide it back together.
3. Have the latest Twitter messages read aloud
A secret feature of Siri has recently been reading tweets. The prerequisite for this is that your iPad is linked to the Twitter account.
- Just ask Siri what a particular contact is reporting from you at the moment. Siri replies with the last tweet from the contact.
- With "Show me my tweets" you can also display your tweets from Siri.
4. Show iMessage exact shipping times
Usually, iMessage only shows the time when a conversation started. Now you can display the delivery time of each individual message with a swipe to the left.
5. Make text bolder on iOS 7
The iOS font is much narrower and finer than you might know from other cell phones or from your computer. With a simple function you can make the texts bold.
- Under Settings> General> Accessibility> "Change bold text" you can make the font bold. Then you have to restart your device.
6. Close up to 3 apps at the same time
If you have many apps open, you have to close them one by one. To make this faster, you now have the option of closing up to 3 apps at the same time.
- To do this, open the Task Manager so that the opened apps appear in the bar below. Then you can simply swipe up to 3 apps at the same time and close them.
7. Set up your own vibrations for notifications
A new function allows you to adjust the vibration for notifications yourself. You can use it to create your own vibration patterns.
- You can find this function under Settings> Tones> Tone and vibration patterns.
