iPad: Change background image - so it'll work
You can change the background image of your iPad to suit your taste. Either use your own photo or choose an existing theme.
Change the background image of the iPad via the settings
- Open the "Settings" app and select "Background image" in the third setting block.
- Press "Choose new background".
- There are ready-made wallpapers under the heading "Apple Background". You can choose between "Dynamic" and "Single image". The dynamic background is moving. As a result, it also consumes more electricity than a static background. Select a background and decide whether you want to use it only for the lock screen, the home screen or both (menu bar below). Tip: Before selecting, press the "Perspective: On" field to switch it off. This also saves you electricity.
- Under the heading "Photos" you can access your own photo albums. Choose a picture. You can use the two-finger gesture to zoom in and out, and use one finger to slide it into the desired position. Then you decide which screen to use it for. To save energy, you can also switch off the perspective here in advance.
The instructions refer to an iPad Air with iOS 8.1. Tip: Photos don't just look good as a background on an Apple tablet. For example, we also show you how to use your iPad as a digital picture frame.
